Background

Swimbabes teach around 1,800 babies to swim each week across the North of England. The client already had an eCommerce platform, for their store, which had some information pages about their extremely successful baby swimming lessons. As their business and reputation has grown, they required a more lesson focused solution, for user experience and search engine optimisation (SEO).

The Solution

We designed and developed a bespoke CMS website using Wordpress. The website was designed from the ground up focusing on user experience (UX), SEO and conversions. The website is a real showcase of what Swimbabes is all about. It's fun, engaging and really tells the story behind the ethos and values of the Swimbabes brand. You can chat with teachers and ask question regarding baby swimming and water confidence and also get a glimpse of all the pools that Swimbabes teach in - you can even check the temperature of the pool!

Central to the brief of this project was search engine rank and conversion rate optimisation. The site uses a logical content strategy to ensure that information is a) appealing and informative to users, but b) is logical and relevant for search engines. There are many obvious 'calls to action' that encourage website user conversions.

Return on Investment

Since the site launched in mid-2013 the conversion rate has averaged 4.88%, substantially higher than the previous website, which was 2.53%. Not bad considering the industry average for conversions from this type of website is 2-2.5%.
