Bringing seasoned expertise and relentless determination to the IT network world, EDNX had no trouble securing leads through word-of-mouth referrals. The team had even impressed industry giants across both the public and private sectors, landing projects with leading names including AstraZeneca, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, and Novuna. But without a compelling brand and limited digital presence, EDNX found itself slowly falling behind its competitors.

The challenge

EDNX is no stranger to tackling complex network challenges in both the public and private sectors. With a detailed understanding of niche IT environments, and expertise in delivering bespoke solutions that drive meaningful change, the team is known for its ability to tackle projects others are afraid to touch. And its “get it right, first time” mentality had earned the business a successful stream of word-of-mouth referrals.

Yet, despite its proven ability to deliver on a national – and international – scale, EDNX was struggling to steal the march on competitors. The brand felt too small, portraying an independent business without the resources to deliver on larger contracts. Its outdated website failed to communicate critical USPs that set it apart and lacked a seamless, user-friendly experience to convert visitors into leads. Meanwhile, its non-existent presence missed crucial opportunities to engage with customers.

EDNX needed a bold new brand that captured its relentless drive, unwavering curiosity, and rich expertise in network services. We envisioned a brand that blended compelling copy with vibrant visuals, brought to life through a sleek, user-friendly website and content strategy that would amplify its message across key digital platforms.

The solution

Keen to unearth EDNX’s core superpower, we kickstarted the project with our Think Big! brand workshop. The aim was to understand what made the brand different, its biggest beliefs and values, and ambitions for the future.

It quickly became apparent that EDNX is a genuine expert, boasting a nuanced understanding of digital IT environments and exactly what’s required to ensure networks keep pace. More importantly, the team stops at nothing to nail every project first time – bringing meticulous attention to detail, unwavering curiosity, and a penchant for progress to every deployment, no matter the scale. So, it was a no-brainer to base EDNX’s new tone of voice on these principles. Meanwhile, with subtle nods to network growth through the brand’s logo iconography, plus a refreshing colour palette to contrast competitors, we crafted a visual identity that feels dynamic, forward-thinking, and distinctly EDNX.

And that’s not all. Impressed with the crew’s work, EDNX sought our expertise to take its strategy one step further. So, we powered the brand’s fresh look and feel with a new and improved website. Drawing on the crew’s integrated expertise in user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design, crafting code, producing search-friendly content, and optimising images via AWS CDN software, we produced a website that could tell EDNX’s story while streamlining the user experience. After a series of tests and optimisations, we achieved high rankings for performance, SEO, accessibility, and best practice on PageSpeed Insights.

Now, our strategy continues with a focus on building thought leadership content across the website and social media, strengthening EDNX’s position as a trusted network expert.

Although not everything was perfect from the start, The Bigger Boat has been very accommodating to all issues we have raised, such as website speed and performance testing, until everything was resolved. I can’t say for sure, but I have a feeling the branding, website, and content work have already led to a new (and potentially major) client win in the public sector. We had a connection there already, and I think the rebrand has triggered his memory of us, leading to the engagement. We’re excited to see where that goes.

The engagement has been very smooth, and TBB’s ability to work around our busy schedules has been key to maintaining a strong relationship throughout such a sizeable transition for our business. The response to any issues we have highlighted has been immediate, keeping a friendly tone throughout. And, thanks to our fresh look and accurate portrayal of our brand vision, we are already establishing new relationships with both existing and hopefully future customers.

As soon as we met with EDNX, it was clear the team had a strong grasp on its values and knew exactly who it wanted to be in the market. But it needed help bringing this vision to life – both from a brand perspective and across digital channels too. By letting key USPs take centre stage of messaging, differentiating its visual identity from industry competitors, and bringing the brand to life with an intuitive, high-performing website, we’ve helped EDNX stand out in a crowded space. And now, with a retained content and social strategy, we’re excited to build on a solid foundation for long-term success.
