Shipmate Spotlight: Grace Lenihan.

Account manager Grace has been with The Bigger Boat just shy of a year now. Here, we find out a bit more about what the sports lover gets up to when she’s not in the office and why she’s so excited for this year at TBB HQ.

What quote do you live your life by?
Trust the timing of your life. I’m a massive believer in things happening for a reason – and at the right time. If things don’t go to plan, I truly believe there’s a reason for it and that something better will happen when it’s meant to.

10 years ago, what did you think you’d be doing now?
I have always loved sports. If I wasn’t playing it or able to do it professionally (I wish) then I wanted to be in a job where I could work within it, in one way or another.

What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without?
This is a tough one! If it was a food, I think it might have to be cheese.

What are you listening to/ reading/ watching at the moment?
I am obsessed with Stormzy’s latest album. I have had it on repeat in the car for the past month. At the moment, I am also hooked on Power (who shot Ghost?!), any other crime documentaries on Netflix and Love Island… I’m just hoping the winter series doesn’t disappoint!

What do you like to do in your spare time?
I love going on holiday. One of my aims this year is to say ‘yes’ to everything (within reason obviously) and just have fun! I love going to the gym and weight training. It has a great impact on my health but I have made an amazing group of friends through group training. On the flip side, I’m a massive foodie. And if I’m not drinking my weight in prosecco on a weekend, I’ll be enjoying fun and games with my gorgeous nephew Jax.

What’s your favourite thing about agency life?
I love planning. I am a serial planner when it comes to work (and in my own life too). What can I say – I love a list! I’m sure everyone says this, but it’s the variety… I also like that my role crosses both project management and content too, so I get the chance to be creative as well as strategic.

What’s your previous working experience?
I started my work experience in a start-up agency during my placement year at university. Post-graduation, I decided I wanted to experience working with bigger brands and secured a 12-month internship with adidas as a brand activation intern (which was mega). But I soon realised that I actually missed the buzz of achieving results for smaller, local businesses so I headed back to Huddersfield and joined TBB agency side in Feb 2019. I’m very nearly at my one-year anniversary already!

What are you working on at the minute that we should know about?
I’m working on a website project for global toy brand Zapf for Baby Annabel and BABY born. I’m working on some cool web projects for a global healthcare brand and also involved in supporting The Enterprise Team at the University of Huddersfield.

What are you excited about during the next year at TBB?
It’s a huge year for the agency as it reaches its 10-year anniversary in February. One thing I absolutely love about this company is the camaraderie. My crewmates are great and I feel like I have been here so much longer than 12 months. We have some of the best times when we are all together, so our 10th birthday party will be great fun. I’m also looking forward to helping the business grow further. Everything is heading in a great direction and I’m super proud to be playing a part in it.
